KUALA LUMPUR: Two men were killed in separate accidents, one in a fiery blaze after both lost control of their cars early Tuesday.
The series of accidents began at 3am, when Ng Chee Fu, 25 who was driving towards KL Sentral from the city centre, lost control of his Proton Persona.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said Ng's car spun out of control and smashed into the road divider along the Mahameru Highway and was crushed inside the wreck.
He was later extracted from the car by Fire and Rescue department officers and pronounced dead at the scene.
Just half an hour later, Khirudin said officers received another report of a Suzuki Swift on fire in a drain along the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) near Taman Mentropolitan, Kepong.
"Six officers and a fire truck were dispatched to put out the flames at around 4.40am.
"The body of a man, which was badly burnt was found inside," he said.
He added that the victim, who has yet to be identified though is believed to be in his early 20's was driving from Kepong towards Batu Caves when he lost control of the car and spun it into a drain along the left side of the road.
Both victims have been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortems, said Khirudin.
