FURNITURE COMPANY Maju Home Concept (MHC) launched the first retail concept store for its Stanzo Collection at 1 Mont Kiara Mall in Kuala Lumpur last Saturday.
The collection, housed in a 4,000sq ft showroom, comprises residential and office furnishings under the umbrella of two brands — Songdream and Prostoria.
The products are imported from countries such as Spain, Croatia and China. Stanzo, or stanza, is Italian for "rooms".
"Each room set up in the concept store will feature complementing furniture and fittings to replicate an actual residential or workplace layout," said Stanzo Collection group and MHC managing director Ken Low.
According to Low, the company looks for contemporary pieces that are affordable for the Malaysian market.
The Songdream collection has a modern and contemporary furniture selection with a distinct Zen-like charm.
It has a complete range of sofas, coffee tables, room dividers, chairs, bookcases, dining tables and wardrobes.
The Prostoria collection has a versatile collection of wood, steel and fabric furniture and furnishings, with some items having multifunctional use, such as the sofa model "Uplift", which recently won the German Design Council's prestigious Interior Innovation Award.
"1 Mont Kiara Mall is a very convenient location," said Low, adding that the area has many expatriates, a target market for the company.
"Hopefully we will open another showroom with a different collection and brands by the end of the year," he said.
In conjunction with the launch of the showroom, the company is offering a 20% discount on its productsfor a limited time.
