SUBANG, Sept 23:

Hybrid carrier Malindo Air is launching its new Subang-Ipoh-Subang service on Oct 3. The flights will take place three times weekly on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In a statement today, chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said: "The tourism industry in Perak is flourishing with the increased number of inbound tourists, and this route will give accessibility and convenience, saving a lot of precious time and travel costs for business and leisure travellers.

"Our market study with the Perak state government indicated that our customers travel frequently between Ipoh and Klang Valley during the weekends to spend quality time with their families and friends.

"We hope, with the introduction of these new flights, our customers would be able to beat traffic and travel back and forth more comfortably, at pocket-friendly fares.

"Besides that, we hope to bring traffic back to Ipoh again via our flights, and promote Perak as an ideal location for a short weekend getaway."

He added: "This connectivity will spur economic development by encouraging new investment and business developments in the state of Perak.

"After all, the state of Perak has among the most popular eco-tourism destinations for leisure travellers."
