KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has denied issuing a tornado warning for the federal capital and Putrajaya.
Its deputy director-general (Climate and Weather), Alui Bahari said the public should not panic over rumours to the effect.
"People should stop spreading such information citing it came from our department because it is false," he said late Sunday.
Social media was abuzz earlier that the department had issued a warning that tornadoes would hit the two places in the next couple of days. - Bernama
