BOMBA IpohIPOH: More than 50 people from Kampung Seri Klebang Tambahan 2 evacuated after their houses were inundated in one-metre of water late yesterday.

The flash floods was due to continuous heavy downpour since evening.

The rain caused a nearby river to burst its banks and its water to overflow into the houses.

Ipoh Fire and Rescue Department operations chief P. Samasuvam said the affected victims were evacuated to SK Seri Klebang.

He said the department received a distress call about 9.45pm and rushed to the scene.

"When we arrived, the area has already been flooded.

"We then evacuated the victims to safer grounds," he added.
