Teenager on motorcycle attacked in George Town - New Straits Times Online

GEORGE TOWN: A teenager was beaten up by a group of 10 men at Jalan Kelawai earlier here today.

In the 1.30am incident, the 19-year-old man was riding his motorcycle together with his friends near the Kelawai Mosque before he was stopped by the group.

He was then attacked with helmets and sticks by the group of men who then left him by the side of the road.

His friends, who had fled the scene on foot, came back later to find one of their motorcycles set on fire.

The victim sustained injuries to his face, body and legs and was sent to the Penang Hospital.

Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said police are investigating the case under Section 148 for rioting.
