Mohamad Huzaimi Shaari, 14, who was believed to have fallen from the balcony, died on the spot in the incident at 4.02pm.
His body was found in the car park located on the second floor.
Timur Laut police chief ACP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said initial police investigations revealed that Mohamad Huzaimi was hyperactive and lived with his grandmother at an apartment unit.
He said the police found a chair on the balcony of the grandmother's apartment and had not ruled out the possibility the victim lost his balance while standing on the chair.
He said the victim's single mother was recovering from a stroke at the Penang Hospital.
The body was sent to the Penang Hospital.
