Georgetown managed to overcome a slow start Saturday thanks to their freshmen. Freshman L.J. Peak, Paul White, and Tre Campbell all scored in double figures for the Hoyas. Those freshmen were a key part of the 43 point second half that separated Georgetown from Creighton.

"Coach has confidence in us, putting freshman out there," said Campbell. "So, I mean, we've just got to play with confidence, and i think we should be fine."

L.J. Peak had 14 points and Tre Campbell 13 for Georgetown (9-4, 1-1 Big East). Joshua Smith shook off early foul trouble to finish with 16 points. The Georgetown freshman provided 25 out of the 29 points during one span, including 13 in a row at one point.

Devin Brooks and Zach Hanson each added 11 for Creighton(9-6, 0-2). This loss is Creighton's third straight, all on their three game road trip. Poor shooting by Creighton hurt them in the game as they shot 30% from the field and 20% from three.

This group of freshman for Georgetown is the first trio of freshman to all score in double figures since 2005. Georgetown led 33-31 at halftime because Issac Copeland hit a big jump shot as time expired. Tre Campbell hit an early second half three to top off Georgetown's 15-2 run which made the score 39-31. Later in the contest Georgetown hit a three with about 7 minutes to go to give the Hoyas a 61-46 edge.

"These guys are all fearless," said Joshua Smith, senior. "I don't see them as freshman, if that makes any sense."

Georgetown will next play Marquette on January 6th at 7:00 PM EST. Creighton will next go up against DePaul on January 7th at 9:00 PM EST.
